GRAPHICS/PICTURES I have broken up this Graphics Help Page so that it is easier to read, i.e. not as much text on any one page. Please use the menu at the top of the page to find the information that you need. If you have not been here before then please start with Using Graphics. But be sure to check my graphic formats help page>

In order to make use of the information here, you must have uploaded your graphic file to your file manager. For information on uploading see UPLOAD FILES or FTP.

Do not reference any graphics by using the graphics' URL on the web, i.e. don't reference a graphic on another web site! The graphic may be moved or the URL renamed. If you want to use a graphic on another page, then download the graphic (right click on it and then SAVE AS to your PC) and upload it to your file manager.

The topics here assume that the graphic is located in the same directory as the file that is displaying it. If the file that is displaying the graphic and the graphic itself are in two different subdirectories, then you must reference the graphic in a special way. See Subdirectories.

If you don't have a graphics editor like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, which are expensive $110 or more, then I highly recommend this excellent FREE graphics editor - IRFANVIEW.

Question: Why won't my graphics display, i.e. all I see is a box with a red X in it?

Answer: There are several reasons:
