Why do I recommend creating and editing all of your web pages offline? Simple - because:

  1. You don't have to wait for a response from the online server to see what you have made.
  2. You will always have a backup copy of your web pages on your hard drive.
  3. You can develop the pages when the online server is having problems.
  4. You can work faster than with an online editor.
  5. An offline editor will generally have more functionality that an online editor, i.e. allow you to do more things.

I recommend using the free editor, HTML-KIT, as it is, in my opinion, the best HTML editor your will find . You can download HTML-KIT at:

To see some of the features of the excellent program, go to HTML-KIT Features.

Another good HTML editor, which I used for many years until I found HTML-KIT, is HTML BUILDER 20. Recently I, and others, have occasionally had problems download HTML Builder 20 from the official download site. I have no idea why the problems exist but they do. So, I have prepared an identical zip for for downloading here in case you can't download it from the above site. DOWNLOAD HTML BUILDER 20 ZIP FILE HERE

After reading this page, you may wish to look at my HTML tutorial which duplicates how to download HTML-KIT, set it up, and use it. In addition, there are lessons on how to make simple web pages using some basic HTML tags that will allow you to:

  1. Put a background, either a color or graphic, on your page.
  2. Put text on your page, using various sizes and other text attributes.
  3. Add links.
  4. Add an Email link.
  5. Add Music to the page.
and many more basic web page building features.
