FIND (WHERE IS) MY PAGE?

This is a common problem for people who are new to the web and they used Page Builder to make a page. They did all the right things, i.e. make the page and SAVE it, but they go to their home page and it is, surprise!, not there. Why?

Most times it is because they don't know how to access, i.e. display, the page. Here are the ways to see, or find, your page.

  1. HOW TO SEE (DISPLAY) YOUR PAGE.

When you make a page and save it with a name, it can be accessed (displayed by your browser) by going to:

    www.geocities.com/membername/pagename.html

    where:

When putting in the address of any page you make with Page Builder in your browser's location box, be sure to add the .html at the end of the name.

  2. YOUR DEFAULT HOME PAGE.

www.geocities.com/membername - the address of your free GeoCities' home page. The default page is named index.html, i.e. if you type in such an address shown here you will see the page (file) name index.html. Many people assume that when they make a page, save it with a name, that this default page will automatically become that page even though they just saved the page with a different name.

Every new GeoCities member is automatically given an index.html page (file) when they sign up. You need to edit and change this page or make a new one to replace it. To see how, GO HERE AND READ.

  3. USE YOUR FILE MANAGER.

Go To Your File Manager And Look For The Page - All your files (pages and graphics) are stored in your File Manger. So go there and look through the list of files to see if you can find it. If you don't know how to get to your file manager then do one of the following:

If you find the page, carefully check the spelling and case of the name.

If you still can't find your page then the page was probably never saved or, somehow, you have deleted it. All you can do is make the page over again.
